Some people just need a Hi5 in the face.. with a chair

I really wonder what goes on in the brains of people sometimes.  A dev finds me on skype, asking me to check for performance on one of the DB servers.

It takes me five minutes to log in and another couple of minutes to start the Task Manager. Eventually I managed establish that the SQLserver is taking up a hug chunk of RAM and most of the CPU time.

When I tell this to the Dev, he’s like ‘Yes cause it’s performing a restore..’

on lollipop updates

Just received an update from Sony for my Xperia Z Ultra. In case you didn’t know, that’s a phone that came out in 2013. It’s 2 years old. And Sony just updated it to the latest stable version of Android – Lollipop 5.1.1. That, my friends, is fantastic and raises Sony’s perceived reputation by a factor of awesome.

I will certainly consider another Xperia when the time comes, based on this fact alone.

A recap of social media platforms

Facebook – boring.
Twitter – meh.
Google+ –  irrelevant.
Tumblr – not so social unless you have a tonne of followers who bother to interact with you, BUT! still more enjoyable than all the previous three put together.

So why am I here writing this instead of enjoying tumblr’s endless scrolling goodness? Good question..
